Wilson's Dictionary of Bible Types
Luke 14:21 (c) The streets refer to the public places, and the lanes refer to the out-of-the-way places where people live in more or less obscurity. This is also described as "highways and hedges." This refers to the easy places to reach and the difficult places to enter. (See vs23).
