Beth-Nimra

Kitto's Popular Cyclopedia of Biblical Literature

Beth-Nim´ra, or simply Nimra, a town in the tribe of Gad (Numbers 32:3; Numbers 32:36; Joshua 13:27), which Eusebius places five Roman miles north of Livias. This leaves no doubt of its being the same ruined city called Nimrin, south of Szalt, which Burckhardt mentions as situated near the point where the Wady Shoeb joins the Jordan.
