a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born at San Cristobal, state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He removed to Texas about 1865; was converted to Protestantism in 1874; and in 1875 was licensed to preach, and sent to start a mission in Conception. He continued a faithful missionary until his decease, Oct. 4,1879. Mr. Casanova was nearly a pure- blooded Indian, and possessed fine preaching abilities. See Minutes of Annual Conferences f the M.
