Eagleton, William, D.D.

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Presbyterian minister, was born in Maryville, Tennessee, March 25, 1796. He was educated in Maryville College, and studied theology in the South- western Theological Seminary, at the same place. In 1827 he was licensed by the Union Presbytery, and soon after was elected professor in Maryville College, In 1829 he accepted a call to the Church in Murfreesborough, where he remained till his death, March 28, 1866.
