(Χαιρέας ), a brother of Timotheus, the leader of the Ammonites against Judas Maccabseus (1 Maccabees 5:6), who held Gazara (Jazar, 1 Maccabees 5:8), where he was slain on the capture of the fortress by the Jews (2 Maccabees 10:32; 2 Maccabees 10:37).
