Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. תֵּמִח, Te'mach; in pause, תָּמִח, Ta'mach, laughter [Gesen.], or combat [Fü rst]; Sept. Θημά, Θεμά; Vulg. Thema), the name of a man whose descendants (or rather a place whose inhabitants) returned among the Nethinim from the captivity with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2, 53, "Thamah " Nehemiah 7:55).
