When the prophet Amos came to Beth-el, and there prophesied the death of Jeroboam and the captivity of Israel, Amaziah tried to expel him from the kingdom of Israel ( Amos 7:10,12 , 14). 2. A Simeonite ( 1Chronicles 4:34 ). 3. A Levite of the family of Merari and ancestor of Ethan ( 1Chronicles 6:30 ).
