The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia

A city in the hills of southern Judea, lying in the domain of Judah (Joshua 15:50), from which Joshua exterminated the Anakim (Joshua 11:21). It is still called Anab (Buhl, "Geographie des Alten Palestina," p. 164).
