Polish architect of the second half of the eighteenth century; born at Lasko. He was the builder of the synagogue at Lutomierz, which was constructed during the reign of the last king of Poland, Stanislaus August I. Benjamin seems to have studied in Germany. He enjoyed in his fatherland a certain reputation; for in the documents he is always called "architect." After finishing the synagogue at Lutomierz, he was commissioned to construct one at Zloczow, which, however, he did not finish. In examining the roof he fell to the ground and died. He is buried in the cemetery of Zloczow.
