קַדְמֹנִי m. ־ִית, f. adj.
(1) in front, anterior, Ezekiel 10:19, 11:1 hence
(2) oriental, eastern. הַיָּם הַקַּדְמֹנִי the eastern sea, i.e. the Dead Sea, opp. to the western, i.e. Mediterranean, Ezekiel 47:18; Joel 2:20.
(3) old, ancient, Ezekiel 38:17. Pl. קַדְמֹנִים the elder (amongst contemporaries), Job 18:20. Sing. collect. 1 Samuel 24:14, מְשַׁל הַקַּדְמֹנִי “the proverb of the ancients.” Pl. f. קַדְמֹנִיּוֹת ancient, former, past things, Isaiah 43:18.
