B.C. 252) (= Witkowski.2, p. 18) σοῦ προστατῆσα [ι τὸν ] [π ]ίλοιπον βίον, ";to take care of you for the rest of your life."; In P Ryl II. 154.33 (A.D. 66) provision is made that in the event of divorce taking place between two contracting parties, Sisoïs (the father-in-law) is to receive ";the remainder";—τὸ ἐπίλοιπον —of the dowry, after the claims of the bridegroom have been met. The recto of the papyrus letter P Tebt I. 58.36 (B.C. 111) ends τἀπίλοιπα ὀπείσωι ";the Greek equivalent of our ‘P.T.O.’ "; (Edd.).
