Vocabulary of the Greek NT

An interesting illustration of this verb, which in Bibl. Greek is confined to 1 Corinthians 11:14 f., is afforded by BGU 1. 16.11 (A.D. 159–160) (= Selections, p. 84), where a charge is brought against a priest of ";letting his hair grow too long and of wearing woollen garments";—ὡς κομῶντος [κ ]αὶ χρω [μ ]ένου ἐρεαῖς ἐσθήσεσι : cf. Herod. ii. 36 f.
