(1 Kings 11:9, al.), Revelation 12:17 (cf. παρ -ὀργίζω ).†

";a teacher"; used of God in LXX Hosea 5:2, and or man in Romans 2:20 : cf. Syll 306.15 (=.3 672.10) (B.C. 162–0) ὅπως. . . οἱ μισθοὶ τοῖς παιδευταῖς εὐτακτέωνται κτλ. and Preisigke 5941.2 (A.D. 509) παιδευτῇ Ἑλληνικῶν λόγων ἐλευθερίων. In late papyri παίδευσις came to be used as a title, e.g. P Oxy VIII. 1165.1 (vi/A.D.) ἔδει ̣ τὴν ὑμετέραν ἀδελφικὴν λ [α ]μπρὰν παίδευσιν ἀντιποιηθῆναι τῆς εὐτελείας μου, ";your fraternal, illustrious learnedness ought to have helped my insignificance"; (Ed.).
