ῤᾳδιουργία, ῤᾳδιουργίας, (see ῤᾳδιούργημα, cf. πανουργία);

1. properly, ease in doing, facility.

2. levity or easiness in thinking and acting; love of a lazy and effeminate life (Xenophon).

3. unscrupulousness, cunning, mischief (A. V. villany): Acts 13:10. (Polybius 12, 10, 5; often in Plutarch.)

Vocabulary of the Greek NT

a word found in the LXX to denote a measure = 1½ modii, or nearly three English gallons (Matthew 13:33, Luke 13:21 : Jos. Antt. IX. 85 (= ix. 4. 5)). Instead of connecting the word with the Aram. סָאתָא, Otto points to a root-form * σάτιον, corresponding to the Coptic saidion, ";a wine-measure of Sais"; : see Archiv iii. p. 448.
