Thayer's Expanded Definition

Τίτιος, Τίτου, , the praenomen of a certain Corinthian, a Jewish proselyte, also surnamed Justus: Acts 18:7 T Tr brackets WH (see Τίτος).

STRONGS NT 5103: Τίτος Τίτος (Rec.st in the subscription, Τίτος; cf. Lipsius, Gram. Unters., p. 42f; Tdf. Proleg., p. 103; Pape, Eigennamen, under the word; Winer's Grammar, § 6, 1 m.), Τίτου, , Titus, a Gentile Christian, Paul's companion in some of his journeys and assistant in Christian work: 2 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Corinthians 7:6, 13; 2 Corinthians 8:6, 16, 23; 2 Corinthians 12:18; Galatians 2:1, 3; 2 Timothy 4:10; Titus 1:4. He is not mentioned in the Book of Acts. But since Titus is the praenomen, perhaps he appears in the Acts under his second, or, if he was a Roman, under his third name; cf. Rückert on 2 Cor., p. 410. He is by no means, however, to be identified (after Wieseler, Com. ü. d. Brief a. d. Galater, p. 573f (also his Chron. d. apost. Zeit., p. 204)) with the Titus of Acts 18:7, even if the reading (of some authorities (see Tdf.'s note ad loc.)) Τίτου (see Τίτιος above) Ἰούστου be the true one.

Vocabulary of the Greek NT

";afflicted with dropsy"; (Luke 14:2), one of the terms to which Hobart (p. 24) appeals in support of the ";medical"; vocabulary of Luke, but it should be noted that, in addition to the passages cited in LS8, the adj. occurs in Polyb. xiii. 2. 6 : cf. JBL xlv. p. 205. For the subst. ὑδρωπία, not in LS8, seeVett. Val. p. 105.27.
