προμαρτύρομαι;

1. antetestor (in the old lexicons).

2. to testify beforehand, i. e. to make known by prediction: 1 Peter 1:11; so also (Basil of Seleucia, 32 a. (Migne vol. lxxxv.) and) by Theodorus Metochita (c. 75, misc., p. 504) — a writer of the fourteenth century.

";stern."; In P Cairo Zen I. 59054.8 (B.C. 257) a boat (κέρκουρος) is described as τοῦ ἄκ ̣ρου συνοξῦναι τοῦ περὶ τὴν πρ ̣ύμναν πλάτος πήχ ̣εις β ̄„, ";being two and a half cubits broad at the narrow end round the stern"; (Ed.). The same document shows us the adj. πρυμνητικός bis. For πρύμνα opposed to πρω ̣ρα, cf. P Mon I. 4.12 (A.D. 581) ἀπὸ πρώρας μέχρι πρύμνης, ";from prow to stern.";
