Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

בְּלוֹא only found in pl. const. בְּלוֹאֵי Jeremiah 38:12, and contr. בְּלֹוֵי ver. 11 Jeremiah 38:11, therags of worn out clothes. This latter form which should be pronounced bĕlפvê is prop. from the sing. בְּלוֹ for בְּלוֹו; in other copies however (see J. H. Michaelis) it is read בְּלוֹיֵיִ and in editt. בְּלוֹיֵ (of the form גֹּוָיִיִ גֶּוֹיִיִ), from the sing. בְּלוֹי (of the form אֲבוֹי).
