אֲהָהּ interj. of lamentation, from the sound uttered, ah! alas! comp. Arab. آْه, أَاهً, whence the roots أَهَّ and آهَ to mourn, to grieve, like the German, ach, ächzen. Almost always in this connection, אֲהָהּ אֲדֹנָי יְהֹוָה “Ah! Lord Jehovah,” Joshua 7:7; Judges 6:22, or אֲהָהּ אֲדֹנִי 2 Kings 6:5, 15 2 Kings 6:15 it stands alone, 2 Kings 3:10, and with a dat. Joel 1:15.
