(2) [Dumah], pr.n. of an Ishmaelite tribe and a region in Arabia, Genesis 25:14; Isaiah 21:11 no doubt the same as is now called دومة الجندل stony Dumah, and دومة السا مية Syrian Dumah; situated in Arabia on the borders of the Syrian Desert; a place fortified with a citadel; in D’Anville’s map placed 58° longit., 29°, 30´ latitude; Λουμαίθα of Ptolemy.
