1 Then I saw an R985 angel coming down from heaven, holding the key R986 of the abyss and a great chain in F229 his hand. 2 And he laid hold of the dragon, R987 the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound R988 him for a thousand years; 3 and he threw him into the abyss, R989 and shut it and sealed R990it over him, so that he would not R991 deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.
4 Then I saw thrones, R992 and they R993 sat on them, and judgment R994 was given to them. And I saw the R995 souls of those who had been beheaded because of their F230 testimony R996 of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped R997 the beast or his image, and had not received the mark R998 on their forehead and on their hand; and they came R999 to life and reigned R1000 with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This R1001 is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed R1002 and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second R1003 death has no power, but they will be priests R1004 of God and of Christ and will reign R1005 with Him for a thousand years.
Satan Freed, Doomed
7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released R1006 from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive R1007 the nations which are in the four R1008 corners of the earth, Gog R1009 and Magog, to gather R1010 them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand R1011 of the seashore. F2319 And they came R1012 up on the broad F232 plain of the earth and surrounded the camp R1013 of the saints F233 and the beloved R1014 city, and fire R1015 came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the R1016 devil who deceived R1016 them was thrown into the lake R1017 of fire and brimstone, F234 where the beast R1018 and the false R1018 prophet are also; and they will be tormented R1019 day and night forever and ever.
Judgment at the Throne of God
11 Then I saw a great white throne R1020 and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence F235 earth R1021 and heaven fled away, and no R1022 place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great R1023 and the small, standing before the throne, and books R1024F236 were opened; and another book F237 was opened, which is the R1025 book of life; and the dead were R1023 judged from the things which were written in the books, F236 according R1026 to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death R1027 and Hades gave R1028 up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according R1029 to their deeds. 14 Then death R1030 and Hades were thrown into the R1031 lake of fire. This is the second R1032 death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's F238 name was not found written in the R1033 book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
