1 What was from R1 the beginning, what we have heard, R2 what we have seen R3 with our eyes, what we have R4 looked at and touched R5 with our hands, concerning the Word R6 of Life-- 2 and the R7 life was manifested, and we have seen R8 and testify R9 and proclaim to you the R10 eternal life, which was with R11 the Father and was manifested R7 to us-- 3 what we have seen R12 and heard R13 we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship R14 is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 These R15 things we write, so that our joy R16 may be made complete.
God Is Light
5 This R17 is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God R18 is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If R19 we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie R20 and do R21 not practice the truth; 7 but if we walk R22 in the Light as He R23 Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the R24 blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If R25 we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth R26 is not in us. 9 If R27 we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to R28 cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If R29 we say that we have not sinned, we make R30 Him a liar and His R31 word is not in us.
