Hazeroth
Holman Bible Dictionary
(huh zee' rahth) Place name meaning, “villages” or “encampments.” Wilderness station on Israel's journey from Egypt (Numbers 11:35 ). There Aaron and Miriam challenged Moses' sole authority, using his Cushite wife as an excuse (Numbers 12:1 ). God punished Miriam with a hated skin disease. Deuteronomy 1:1 uses Hazeroth as one focal point to locate Moses' speech to Israel. Some geographers would locate it at moder ain Khadra, south of Ezion-geber. Some Bible students try to locate all the sites in Deuteronomy 1:1 near Moab. If they are right, the Hazeroth mentioned there is different from the wilderness station.
