Planks

Holman Bible Dictionary

Long, flat pieces of timber thicker than boards, used in shipbuilding (Ezekiel 27:5; Acts 27:44 ) and for the flooring of Solomon's Temple (1 Kings 6:15 KJV). The “thick planks upon the face of the porch” in Ezekiel's vision of the renewed Temple ( Ezekiel 41:25 KJV) likely refers to some type of canopy (NRSV; overhang, NIV; covering, TEV; cornice, REB) or to a threshold (NAS).
