It was taken by the Philistines in the reign of Ahaz. 2 Chronicles 28:18 . THE VALLEY OF AJALON is the place where Joshua, when pursuing the Amorites, bade the sun and the moon stand still. Joshua 10:12 . The city is identified with the modern Yalo, 31 51' N, 35 1' E.
