Confessor, Bishop of Hexham, afterwards of York, born Harpham, England; died Beverley, England, 721. He joined the Benedictine Order, lived for some time in the monastery at Whitby, and was consecrated Bishop of Hexham, 687. He founded a monastery at Inderawood (later Beverley), which became an important ecclesiastical center, and there he spent the last years of his life. Canonized, 1037.
