Ethnologist, born Brockville, Canada, 1838; died 1918. He entered the Jesuit Order at Amiens, France, taught in several of the American colleges, and was named president of the English College at Montreal. Appointed archivist of Saint Mary's in that city, he assisted Thwaites in publication of the Jesuit Relations, and was awarded grand prize for his archreological exhibit at the Saint Louis Exposition, 1904. His works on the Huron country were published by the Ontario government. He gave valuable aid to the vice-postulator of the cause of the martyrs Jogues, Brebeuf, and companions.
