Parlour
Holman Bible Dictionary
British variant of parlor. The KJV used parlour in three passages. In each case, modern translations replace parlor with a term more suitable to the context: (1) inner chambers (NRSV), courts (REB), or rooms (NIV) of the Temple (1 Chronicles 28:11 ); (2) dining hall (REB) or hall (NIV, NRSV) in which Saul shared a sacred meal with Samuel (1 Samuel 9:22 ); (3) the upper room (NIV) or roof chamber (NRSV, REB) of a palace (Judges 3:20 ,Judges 3:20,3:23-25 ).
