Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible
ITHRA . The father of Amasa, and husband of Abigail, David’s sister. He is described as an Israelite in 2 Samuel 17:25 , but the better reading is ‘ Jether the Ishmaelite’ ( 1 Chronicles 2:17 ).
