Hastings' Dictionary of the New Testament
HEM OF GARMENT.—This is the Authorized Version translation of κράσπεδον in Matthew 9:20; Matthew 14:36 (of touching the hem of Jesus’ garment with a view to healing). In these places, as on its occurrence elsewhere (Matthew 23:5, Mark 6:56, Luke 8:44), Revised Version NT 1881, OT 1885 adopts the rendering ‘horder.’ See art. Border.
