a strengthened form of leipo, "to leave," signifies (a) "to leave, to leave behind," e.g., Matthew 4:13; (b) "to leave remaining, reserve," e.g., Luke 10:40; (c) "to forsake," in the sense of abandoning, translated "to forsake" in the RV of Luke 5:28; Acts 6:2; in Hebrews 11:27; 2 Peter 2:15 , AV and RV.
