(Strong's #3636 — Adjective — okneros — ok-nay-ros' )

"shrinking, timid" (from okneo, "to shrink, delay"), is used negatively in Philippians 3:1 , RV, "irksome" (AV, "grievous"), i.e., "I do not hesitate;" in Matthew 25:26; Romans 12:11 , "slothful." See GRIEVOUS , SLOTHFUL.
