Aubagne

1911 Encyclopedia Britannica

a town of south-eastern France, in the department of Bouches-du-Rhone on the Huveaune, 1 i m. E. of Marseilles by rail. Pop. (1906) 6039. The town carries on the manufacture of earthenware and pottery, leather, &c. and the cultivation of fruit and wine. There is a fountain to the memory of the statesman, F. Barthelemy (d. 1830), born at Aubagne.
