a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Chesterfield County, Va., Aug. 20, 1799, of pious parents, who early instructed him in religion. He experienced conversion when about fourteen, and in 1818 united with the Virginia Conference, wherein he served the Church faithfully until 1825, when he superannuated, which relation he held until his decease, Dec. 7, 1833.
