a Congregational minister, was a native of Wales. He emigrated to America and settled in Milton, Connecticut; was ordained pastor of the Church in Saybrook in 1669 or 1670; was one of the founders and trustees of the institution that afterwards became Yale College; was moderator of the Synod of 1708 that produced the Saybrook Platform, and died in 1709.
