Campagnola, Domenico

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an eminent Venetian painter (and engraver) of the school of Titian, lived about 1543. He received lessons from his father, Giulio, and painted both in oil and fresco with great brilliancy. The following are some of his plates: Christ Healing the Sick Man at the Pool of Bethesda; The Resurrection of Christ;, The Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost; The Assumption of the Virgin.
