Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a reputable Flemish historical painter, was born at Antwerp in 1603, and studied under Cornelis de Vos. He executed a number of works for the churches in Flanders, the principal of which are The Nativity, at Brussels, in the church of the Jesuits; The Martyrdom of St. Ursula, at the Beguinage; The Presentation, and a grand picture of The Crucifixion, in a church at Mechlin.
