a Congregational minister, was born in Suffield, Connecticut; entered Harvard College, but transferred his membership to Yale, from which he graduated in 1787, and of which he was tutor from 1790 to 1792; was installed as colleague pastor with his father over the First Church in Suffield; and retired from the active ministry several years before his death, which occurred in February, 1837, aged seventy-one years.
