Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Yekolyah', יְכָלְיָה, 2 Chronicles 26:3, where the text erroneously has יְכָילְיָה; Auth. Vers. "Jecholiah;" in 2 Kings 15:2, the paragogic form Yekolya'hu, יְכָלְיָהוּ, able through Jehovah; Sept. Ι᾿εχελία; Josephus Ἀχιάλας , Ant. 9:10,1; Vulg. Jechelia), a female of Jerusalem, mother of king Uzziah, and consequently wife of king Amaziah, whom she appears to have survived: her character may be inferred from the general piety of her son. B.C. 824-807.
