Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an American minister of the Congregational Church, was born at Boston, Mass., in 1751; was educated at Harvard College, where he graduated in 1776; was ordained minister of the Congregational Church in Salem, Mass., in 1779, and retained that post until his death in 1836. He published, Fast Sermon (Salem, 1798): Sermons before a Charitable Society (1806): Sermon on the Death of Dr. Barnard (1814): Sermon before the Bible Society (1816).
