(Heb. Sibbo'leth, סַבֹּלֶת , for Shibboleth [q.v.]; the Sept. does not represent it, the Greek having no aspirate for σ; Vulg. Sibboleth), the Ephraimitish (text "Ephrathite") pronunciation of SHIBBOLETH (Judges 12:6).
