Souchai (or Souchay), Jean Baptiste
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
or Souchai (Or Souchay), Jean Baptiste,
a French ecclesiastic and writer, was born at Saint-Amand, near Vendome, in 1688, and was educated by his uncle. Removing to Paris, he gained the applause and esteem of all the learned, and in 1720 was elected a member of the Academy of Inscriptions. He was also made canon of Rodez, counsellor to the king, and reader and professor of eloquence to the College Royal. He died at Paris, Aug. 25, 1746.
