Elijah Alamannus
The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia
Spanish physician and diplomat of the fifteenth century, and court physician of the Duke of Bourbon (probably Louis II. of France). Alfonso V., King of Aragon, confided to him a mission to Pope Martin V. He went to Rome in charge of a letter to the pope (Sept. 8, 1420), under safe-conduct for a year. A few years later "Magister Elijah," while at Avignon, had a bull, issued in favor of the Spanish Jews, legalized by the notary of the Curia.
