Austrian musician; born in Vienna Oct. 31, 1857. When only seven years old Robert Fischhof played in public. He studied at the Vienna Conservatorium under Anton Door (pianoforte), and under Fuchs, Krenn, and Bruckner (composition), and later took piano lessons from Franz Liszt. He has played throughout Europe under the leadership of Abt, Dessoff, Lassen, Grieg, Reinecke, Hiller, Gade, etc., and at the courts of Austria, Prussia, Sweden, and Denmark. In 1884 he became a professor at the Vienna Conservatorium. He has composed various pieces for the pianoforte, and has played his own compositions in Paris, Berlin, etc.
