Heymann, Paul

The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia

German laryngoscopist; born at Pankow, near Berlin, 1849; studied medicine at Berlin and Heidelberg (M.D., Berlin, 1874). After taking a postgraduate course at Heidelberg, Vienna, Prague, and Tübingen, he in 1878 established himself in Berlin, where in 1894 he became privat-docent and in 1899 assistant professor.

Heymann has written many essays in the medical journals, mainly on laryngoscopy, tuberculosis, and diseases of the nose and throat. He is also the editor of "Handbuch der Laryngologie und Rhinologie," Berlin, 1896-1900.
