ἐκστρέφω,
1. turn out of, βόθρου τ' ἐξέστρεψε [δένδρον] rooted up a tree from the trench it stood in, Il. 17.58. II turn inside out, τὰ βλέφαρα Ar. Pl. 721: metaph., change or alter entirely, τοὺς τρόπους Id. Nu. 88; τοὺς ἡμετέρους Ἱππέας ib. 554: — Pass., ποσὶν ἐξεστραμμένοις πορευόμενοι with feet turned outwards, Arist. Phgn. 813a14; to be distorted, Gal. 7.27.
2. metaph. in pf. part. Pass., γενεὰ ἐξεστραμμένη perverse generation, LXX De. 32.20.
3. transmute base metal, Zos. Alch. p.195B.
ἐκστρέφω: perfect passive ἐξεστραμμαι;
1. to turn or twist out, tear up (Homer, Iliad 17, 58).
2. to turn inside out, invert; tropically, to change for the worse, pervert, corrupt (Aristophanes nub. 554; the Sept. Deuteronomy 32:20): Titus 3:11.
STRONGS NT 1612a: ἐκσῴζω [ἐκσῴζω: 1 aorist ἐξεσωσα; to save from, either to keep or to rescue from danger (from Aeschylus and Herodotus down): εἰς αἰγιαλόν ἐκσωσαι τό πλοῖον, to bring the ship safe to shore, Acts 27:39 WH text; others ἐξῶσαι, see ἐξωθέω, and εἰ I. 7 c.
