The adj. ἀφριόεντι , as an epithet of the sea, occurs in a late hymn to Isis, Kaibel 1028.74. For the medical writers’ use of ἀφρός (Luke 9:38) see Hobart’s plentiful evidence, Med. Language of St Luke, p. 17 f. The word is MGr.
