Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
אֵילִם (“trees,” perhaps, palm grove), [Elim], pr.n. of a station of the Israelites in the desert, their second station after they came out of Egypt, “where were twelve wells and seventy palm trees,” Exodus 15:27, 16:1 Numbers 33:9. With ה parag. אֵילִמָה Exodus 15:27. Geographers compare a valley of that region, called Garendel [Wady Ghŭrŭndel], but Ehrenberg informed me that he found a valley, called عاليم, in that neighbourhood, in which word it is very probable that there is a trace of the ancient name.
