מָנוֹחַ (from the root נוּחַ), with suff. pl. מְנוּחַיִךְ (Psalms 116:7).

(1)  rest, Lamentations 1:3. To seek rest for a woman, i.e. “conditionem” (Liv. iii. 45); to seek marriage, Ruth 3:1. Plur. Psalms 116:7.

(2) a place of rest, Genesis 8:9; Deuteronomy 28:65.

(3) [Manoah], pr.n. of the father of Samson, Judges 13:2, seq.
