(1) delight, pleasure; Gr. ἡδονή Syr. ܥܶܕܢܐܳ only in plur. Psalms 36:9; 2 Samuel 1:24.
(2) [Eden], pr.n. of a pleasant country in Asia (the site of which is described -Gen. 2:1014 ), in which was the garden where the first created human beings were placed, Genesis 2:8, 10 4:16 hence גַּן־עֵדֶן the garden of Eden, 2:15 3:23, 24 Joel 2:3; Isaiah 51:3; Ezekiel 31:9, 16 Ezekiel 31:16.
