1. separate from, τὸ χεῖρον ἀπὸ βελτίονος Pl. Sph. 226d: — Pass., to be separated from, πυρός Id. Ti. 59d; ἐξ ἰνῶν αἷμα ἀ. ib. 84a.
2. separate, set apart, detach, Lys. 16.16; ἀ. ὡς ἓν εἶδος separate and put into one class, Pl. Plt. 262e; ἀπὸ βασιλικῆς τε καὶ πολιτικῆς πράξεως ib. 289d.
3. Pass., to be vomited, Herod. Med. in Rh.Mus. 58.99.

ἀποχωρίζω: (1 aorist passive ἀπεχωρίσθην); to separate, sever (often in Plato); to part asunder: passive ὁ οὐρανός ἀπεχωρίσθη, Revelation 6:14; reflexively, to separate oneself, depart from: ἀποχωρισθῆναι αὐτούς ἀπ' ἀλλήλων, Acts 15:39.
